Here’s the beginning of a new series, the crow as an artist. It has begun as a drawing I did, in my little sketchbook I always carry …I then did a more focused drawing/inking and then I sent off to Boxcar to get a plate made …

Printing: this time, I thinned the ink out, and used much less ink to begin with. That seemed to work well. I got very little blockage of detail, it seemed to print well.

Good detail, didn’t block up … nice!

So, this will be a launching pad image for an on-going series, much like Steeples. The crow artist will use pencils, paint brushes, etc to create the final image. Even if I repeat a theme … for instance, the crow paints a word like “Hope” or “Peace” etc … each version is still a unique piece of art, no two will look exactly alike … sort of a mid-point between a once-off original piece/painting and an open-ended/limited edition series of prints.
Having said that, I admit to being unsure how to proceed … mainly, how to link the printed image to what I add. That, I think, will be the crux.
We’ll see … 🙂
